HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
It's ALL HALLOWS EVE,
Magic fills the air.
We all gather tonight,
Witch, ghost, goblin and were.
Jack o'lanterns are glowing,
Trick or treaters are out.
Black cats on a broomstick,
We all fly about.
The ghosties are dancing,
This is their special night.
Tread carefully my children,
Don't blow out the light.
I'll bid you ado.
For spells I must cast.
I've waited all year,
I want this Halloween to last!

A DUFFY UPDATE.........A HALLOWEEN MIRACLE!
Thank you to my blogging friends for their well wishes. All of your blessings are working. Duffy woke up this afternoon and came into the kitchen and began to lick the cat bowl (this was a wonderful, normal Duffy thing)
then he came to me wagging his tail and gave me a kiss. He is walking fine and just had dinner. I e-mailed my son some pictures and he calls it "A HALLOWEEN MIRACLE." I am still keeping my fingers crossed that he will be okay for a long time. Once again, thank you all.
Here I am today, thank you everybody.........Duffy xxxxx

A ROUGH NIGHT...TRYING TO ACCEPT CHANGES!
We had a very sad and rough night last night. Our wonderful, beloved dog Duffy ( who is my profile picture) had a bad turn and we thought we were going to lose him. My husband went into the mudroom where our two babies sleep, and Duffy was lying very still and would not look up. He had thrown up earlier in the day, but he suffers from small siezure episodes so that is not unusual. He was so bad that I called our son who came home for the night to stay with his beloved friend. After a few hours he got up but was very slow and undsteady and was still did not seem to know us. We brought him into the kitchen but after awhile he wanted back into the mudroom. He went to sleep and this morning he was at least focusing on us. By the time Zach left to go home Duffy was up and wanted to go outside. He is drinking water now but still unsteady. I do not think he had a stroke because he seems to be improving.
If anyone has had this type of experience with their pet I would like to hear about it. I love our babies so much and I know that they are almost 14 and the time will come but I am just not ready and neither are they. Please say a blessing for my darling boy. Life can really suck sometime.

TRICK OR TREAT......I'LL TAKE THE TREAT!
I had my family over this past weekend for some Halloween Fare. There were children running around on sugar highs (so were some of the adults) lots of laughter and of course Halloween Treats. I love to bake, I used to have a small sweets catering business, Sinfully Delicious and Santa's Little Helper. I have much more fun baking for those I love. Here are some of my Spooky Delights.
My Ghost Cookies
Witches Delight Cupcakes
And for Dracula's sweet tooth, black and red Vampire Candy Apples.
If you haven't visited Lisa at The Enchanted Oven blog stop by. She is an incredible baker and she has instructions for her unique, wickedly, amazing Witches Hat Cake. She has lots of Halloween goodies on her blog it is well worth a stop over.

DANDY HAS A FOREVER HOME!
I want to thank everyone who cared about Dandy and thank you so much to those who posted about his situation. I do not know the details but I just found out he has a forever home. Thanks again, blogging is a powerful tool and I think that bloggers are wonderful.
The photo is not Dandy but I am sure he is smiling too!

A KNOCK AT THE DOOR!
This morning I woke to a knock at my door. I peeked out and what did I see? Lady Winter was trying to get in.
She was so lovely with her cool complexion and images of what was to come.
Curled up by the glow of the fire with a creamy hot chocolate.
Snuggling in my favourite chair (when I can get it away from the cats.)
Fighting with the cats over the wool while I knit. Reading the books I have been stocking up on. Watching my endless collection of old movies, especially the Thin Man.
But as enticing as this beautiful lady was I suddenly felt a warm breeze as the Goddess Autumn came dancing across the yard with her abundance of fiery leaves trailing after her. I said a quick goodbye to The Winter Goddess but not for long, I am sure she will be knocking at my door again soon for a long visit.

MY HALLOWEEN BLESSING!
The moon shines bright,
It lights up this night.
The air fills with magic,
Your brooms hold tight.
With black cats riding,
We take to flight.
The cauldron bubbles,
It has begun.
The spells are cast,
Lets have some fun.
Tonight we gather,
Be it one or thirteen.
For once again dears,
It's HALLOWEEN!

FRIDAY HALLOWEEN SPOOKTAKULAR..LET THE HAUNTING BEGIN!
As promised here are the rest of the pictures of my Halloween House. I am pleased with the result, all that is left is to carve the pumpkins ( I don't do it too early so they will last). I am having a little family Halloween get together this weekend and I am baking up a Halloween storm. I will show you that next Friday, alas the last Halloween post, boooooo hooooo, and I hope that the pictures of my pumpkins and ghosts from my motion machine turn out so you can see how great they look on the house at night.
I am still hoping for a miracle for Dandy the horse to find a home. If you hadn't read yesterdays post please have a look.
The lovely tin sign and the picture of my girls are up all year because at my house "The witch is always in!"
This tin witches hat hold voltive candles and is lovely lit at night. I put it up on a cake stand and wrapped it with tulle and a silk ribbon. The wooden twirly is one of my vintage favourites.
These are the lovely paper fans I ordered from England.
These cute little wooden cutouts are from ebay.
I have quite a few motion activated Halloween things. This guy screams everytime you go past him.
I don't like to have real pumpkins carved inside because they do not last. I picked this artificial one up this year and you cannot tell the difference. I bought the paper lantern at the dollar store. I have ordered some wonderful ones with bats and spiders but they have yet to arrive.
My Halloween globe plays "Ding dong the witch is dead." I really like the image of the witch on this sign.
Well, the Witching Hour is quickly approaching. Soon it will be All Hallows Eve. I am going to grab a brew and see what creatures the night has brought out. I hope you have enjoyed my tour.
