I give blessing to all of those I love, here and gone. I miss the women in my life who taught me to be who I am. My grandmother and great-grandmother were strong, loving women and I miss them dearly.
It is funny how things evolve. Where once Jack O'Lanterns ( which were originally turnips not pumpkins) were set out to keep the spirits away, are now carved to rejoice and welcome the holiday that has become known as Halloween. Our kind are revered and loved where we were once feared and prosecuted.
So tonight as you welcome your little Trick and Treaters remember what this night is really about. Although I love the Halloween Holiday of today I do remember tonight, the women who were sacrificed in the name of ignorance and indifference.
And of course a HAPPY HALLOWEEN to all of you. I hope you have a great time and get all of the Tricks & Treats you wish for.
Don't forget tonight at midnite I draw the winner of the HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL JEWELLERY GIVEAWAY. Sign up at the SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES post.
Happy Halloween Sue, love the wicked post!!!!! Happy Haunting, Francine.

ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely post! I set out my dumb supper and took food offerings to the garden spirits. My candles are lit and there I've visited with a few (very few) trick or treaters. I hope you have a wonderfully Happy Halloween!!
