GETTING READY FOR CHRISTMAS!!!

Christmas decorating has started on the farm.  Outside is finished, lights will go on December 1st.  Working on the inside of the farmhouse and hopefully will be finished by mid week.  First Christmas Party is November 30th. and then it is just a whirl of activity.

HAPPY SUMMER SOLSTICE everyone! It is the longest night of the year, tonight we eat, burn a fire and celebrate Litha the goddess of Summer. We have a blessing for Peace, Harmony and a balance of nature in our lives. May Litha and the Green Man gives us all a summer of bounty for the coming year.

The last of my Christmas Eve to do list is complete.  Shortbreads are iced, table is set, veggies are cut, stuffing is made, turkey awaits for  6 a.m. and hubby and dogs are fed.  I am ready to snuggle in bed and watch a couple of Christmas films.

I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas Eve celebrating whatever traditions you have.  I want to wish you a peaceful, joyful, loving and healthy Christmas from MY HIPPIE HEART.

WINTER SOLSTICE....HAPPY YULE!!!

December 21st the beginning of the Winter Solstice.  A new fresh time.  A love for animals, earth and people, peace, joy and love.  HAPPY YULE!!!

GOD JUL!!! HAPPY ST. LUCIA DAY!!!

Today is St. Lucia Day.  Our Scandinavian Christmas.

We have a breakfast of lovely strong coffee and Cardamon buns.  Then the celebrations of light begin.

St. Lucia Eve is magic for animals.  They all love the Tomtes and the Tomtes love them.  They gather in Peace and enjoy the quiet night and help the Tomte with his journey of delivery gifts.

The children will awake to treats and presents.  The youngest girl will wear a crown of light to honour St. Lucia.  In the evening there will be a procession of Light.

The Tomtes have worked hard all night delivering gifts.  I left them their porridge with an almond I hope you did not forget or he will play a nasty trick on you.
