MY HIPPIE HEART!
I grew up with Peace, Love and Rock & Roll. I feel so fortunate to have been a child of the 70's.
I was able to be there when Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin & Jimi Hendrix played the music that shaped a generation. I am sitting here now listening to Morrison as he sings "Don't You Love Her Madly" and "Light My Fire". When I listen to them I am a barefoot, bellbottomed Hippie who cannot wait to go to a concert or festival and have the music wash over me.
I would spend all of my money on albums, remember those? I loved albums, I still have all of mine and kept the stereo to play them on. I loved the beautiful covers and inside the pictures of the bands and the words to the songs. And posters for concerts. Those were works of art.
Then there were the Rock & Roll Bibles. Creem and Rolling Stone Magazine. My idols were a page turn away. What they were doing, where they were playing. Unfortunately Creem no longer is published and for me Rolling Stone has turned into a glossy, trendy magazine. I read them when they were actually made like a newspaper.
I was too young to go to Woodstock but I did go to many other Music Festivals. I am so glad that I had those experiences. Everyone got along. Everyone shared. It was truly a loving peaceful time.
It was also a time of war. I like to think some of the things we did had an influence on making Peace at that time.
I may be older but I am still a hippie and not just in my heart. I hold onto my John Lennon glasses, my albums and my Peaceful way of living. I am a vegan, grow my own food, mostly, and treat everyone human and animal with respect and love. I still hope for Peace in the world and equality for all. I am still barefoot most of the time and listen to the same music, which our son also listened to his whole life and still loves it. Being a Hippie is not a life choice, it's a love choice. I would not change that part of my life because it shaped my beliefs forever. After all what more could we ask for than Make Love Not War and Give Peace A Chance?

PUPPIES! AND A GIVEAWAY!
No, I am not giving away puppies. You all know that over that past 3 months we have lost our two beloved dogs, Duffy and Penny, and how I said I would not be ready for anymore dogs until Spring 2013, well I am weakening.
I was visiting my sister yesterday and her neighbour came over with his new 7 week old Siberian puppy named Bell. Oh she was so cute. Tiny with a little black mask just like a baby raccoon. My heart began to ache for my sweet babies.
Although when we do get two more dogs we will be adopting an older dog and a puppy, I miss that puppy smell and the squirrming little bodies when you pick them up.
The hardest thing is choosing a new family member. I always feel so bad for those left behind. I do not look forward to going to the shelter but I believe that those are the pets most in need and there are always dog and cats of every age, shape and size waiting to go home with you.
So, I do not know if I can hold out for another year. If I see a few more of these adorable faces I think I will be showing you all a couple of new members of our family a lot sooner.
And don't forget to enter my 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY GIVEAWAY drawn on April 12th. Just go to the post and follow the instructions.
Drop by LUCYS GARDEN today too, my post is on the beautiful Lilac.

MY LIFE AS A FAERIE PRINCESS!
When I was a little girl, like many little girls, I wanted to grow up to be a Faerie Princess.
In my heart I am a Faerie Princess although I do have a Castle it is made of sand. That's okay, much lower mortgage payments.
My crown may be made of paper and encrusted with glitter instead of diamonds but it makes me feel just as regal and I don't have to worry about insuring it.
For practical reasons I prefer sandals to glass slippers. Who has time to polish those shoes and I don't need the sore feet.
Just like the Princess in the Faerie Tale, I do my own cleaning.
And I have pumpkins and mice but instead of turning into a Carriage and footman or horses they live in the pumpkins. Trust me I've tried but they will not turn into a Carriage and Horses.
Being the practical Princess that I am, I drive a Saturn Vue instead of a Coach. In the long run it is cheaper than feeding all of those horses.
I kissed my fair share of frogs before I met my Prince. He may have a few more kinks in his armour but I adore him just the same.
Holding onto my inner Faerie Princess has helped me through a lot in my life. When times get tough I always remember this.
And as a woman my mantra has always been this, I think they are good words to live by for all of us Faerie Princesses.

WHAT A WEEKEND!
I have not posted since last Friday. We went to visit our son and his family on Saturday. We had a lovely visit and when it was time to leave my son wanted to show me his new lawnmower so we went to the garage. Now first let me say that he has two adorable cats, Jinx and Kaysar. They are indoor cats but Kaysar is always at the front door. We went out the garage door and left for home. I called when we arrived to hear my sons upset voice that Kaysar had gotten out. We do not know how it happened but the front door was open when my daughter-in-law came upstairs. This is what happens when you change routine. We always leave from the front door and our son goes back in and locks it, this time he came in from the garage. The door must not have shut tight. We drove back that night, around 45 minutes. We searched for hours. On Sunday they made flyers and have called all of the shelters. I drove my husband home and came back to stay so my daughter-in-law could put up more flyers and look again on Monday. I took care of the baby. So far no luck. I hold out hope because they are in a quiet neighbourhood and I think being an indoor cat he is close but scared. If you have had this happen any encouragement would be appreciated. Also, my daughter-in-law, Natasha has a post about her beloved Kaysar on her blog ORCHIDS TO ASHES so if you have an encouraging comment or story it might really help her she is just devastated. Please put out all of you positive energy for this little guy.
On a happier note, here are two of the Wedding Pillows from my Spring collection in my Etsy shop Wicked Faerie Queen.
Also, I was posting about my 1 YEAR ANNIVERSAY GIVEAWAY which is on April 12th. but with all that has happened I will do it tomorrow so stop by.

A JIG, A PIG AND AN EARLY HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
I will be gone from Blogland tomorrow until Sunday so I am going to celebrate the green today.
Let us start with a stroll over the rolling hills of Ireland. Do you feel the sun on your face and smell the lush green grass. And look at the sheep how happy and content they are on this beautiful spring day. Now down the path to the cottage. We will sit and enjoy a delightful sunset.
Then off to town to celebrate with a couple of pints of Guinness and an Irish Jig.
If we are lucky on the way home we will meet a Leprechan and he will bless us with good fortune for the rest of the year.
So as our St. Patrick's visit comes to an end I will bid you ado until Sunday. I hope tomorrow you all find your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow or at least a lucky four leaf clover. HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
And stop by LUCYS GARDEN for some Irish Cheer and delicous recipes to celebrate the day.
