I don't know about you but I love to get & give a homemade gift, especially a Valentines Day gift.

I like to decorate around the house with homemade things. This is a nice idea and something you can put up every year.

You could make sweet little love notes from your favourite poems or sonnets.

Something as simple as a banner. These are so easy to make and you can get really elaborate or something as easy as patterned hearts.

How lovely is this. You can get these blocks at any craft store and paint on the words that you want to say to your loved one.

Being a baker I do like to say it with sweets. You don't have to get as fancy as these beauties. A simple sugar cookie iced and decorated with sprinkles or a nice word is great as long as it is from you.

And of course, my favourtie is the cupcake, which I have made today for my husbands birthday instead of cake. Valentine cupcakes are the best. You can decorate them in red, white, or pink icing and use some adorable sprinkles topped with a cinammon heart.

If you are really feeling like a celebration, host a Valentines brunch or lunch for your family or friends with a table of handmade goodies. Spread the love. Whatever you do for Valentines Day it is always so nice to give a homemade token of your affection.

  1. Great ideas, my favorites are the love note hearts and the owl cookies. If I put that much work into them, don't know if I could eat them! Happy Valentines Day.

  2. What a beautiful post and so many lovely Valentine ideas. Love the sweets! I really do need to get out more and explore all of the fantastic things there are to make for this holiday. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day.
