GOD JUL!!! HAPPY ST. LUCIA DAY!!!

Today is St. Lucia Day.  Our Scandinavian Christmas.

We have a breakfast of lovely strong coffee and Cardamon buns.  Then the celebrations of light begin.

St. Lucia Eve is magic for animals.  They all love the Tomtes and the Tomtes love them.  They gather in Peace and enjoy the quiet night and help the Tomte with his journey of delivery gifts.

The children will awake to treats and presents.  The youngest girl will wear a crown of light to honour St. Lucia.  In the evening there will be a procession of Light.

The Tomtes have worked hard all night delivering gifts.  I left them their porridge with an almond I hope you did not forget or he will play a nasty trick on you.

I wish all of my friends, family and pets a Happy St. Lucia Day, I hope your home is filled with love , light and joy today and always.....GOD JUL!!!

FIRST CHRISTMAS PARTY OF THE SEASON!!!!!

We had our first Christmas Party here on the farm on December 1st.

Despite my very expensive Viking oven going on the blink, and I just found out they may not be able to get parts to repair it, fingers crossed, the food was still very good.  I had to improvise using my crock pot and sending my husband out to buy a counter top oven, but I persevered and all went well.

Lots of delicious wine, I broke out my lovely Sophie Conran Christmas plates, my Scandinavian kitchen Christmas corner was lovely and everyone took home a gift bag full of Confetti Peanut Butter Fudge.  One party down and 2 to go!
