WORDS TO LOVE BY........NOT JUST ON VALENTINES DAY!

Everyone says "I love you". It is probably the most popular phrase ever spoken.
We say it to those dear to us, to the one we are passionate about, to our pets. The power of those three little words! Sometimes they are said just in passing. We say it at the end of phone conversations. Is "I love you" becoming words we use in daily conversation instead of words to impress upon someone how we feel? Do we think before we say them or are they just an automatic response.

Valentines Day is the one day of the year everyone tells each other "I love you". Usually we say it with a card that has loving words, sometimes our own, written inside to tell each other how much we really do love them.

Perhaps we should think about the power of love words and phrases everyday.

Love heals, lifts us up, makes us feel special. A touch on the cheek, an arm around a shoulder, a whisper in an ear "I am so happy you are mine, I love you".

We look across the room at the person we chose to be with and sometimes we take for granted the reason we chose them and we do not always say the loving words we once took the time to say.

Let us not just make Valentines Day the day we use words to show how much the people in our lives mean to us. It does not always have to come in the form of a written card. A tender touch with a gentle word of love can make someone feel like they are the one and only person in the world for you and that is a wonderful thing.

  1. I love this post!
    And totally agree!
It's so important to tell your loved ones you love them!
A few years ago, Paul and I decided not to celebrate valentines day
Instead, we said we'd prefer to do little things randomly to let each other know we're thinking of each other.
    It's much nicer, as it's a suprise

  2. Beautiful post, Sue. Every word a must-read. I always want those I love to never doubt the depths of my sincerity and I both say it and try to think of little things to be left as reminders as well. Hugs, my lovely friend.
