KNOCK, KNOCK!

I just love doors, especially old doors. To me the front door, or any door, into your home should be special.

The colour of your door says a lot about the person inside. Red, which is one of the most popular colours, means "Welcome".

A Blue door, the colour blue meaning Sky and Water, signifies "Abundance & Prosperity".

Yellow shows "Wisdom, Perception & a little Humour."

You have a lot of energy if your door is Purple.

A Green door shows you have "Peace, Compassion and your home is full of Harmony."

If Pink is your colour of choice you are a "Nurturer".

Black means "Strength, Power & Authority" perhaps that is why the Prime Minister's door is Black in England and most Soliciters doors are too.

Leave your door Natural Wood if you are a Purest and close to Nature.

Adorning your Front Door with lovely Doorknobs and Door Knockers just shows how fanciful you are. I love Door Knockers and have them and Bells at every outside door in my home. I collect lovely Door Knockers and I really like it when the weather takes over and they age a bit. Old Door Knobs are my passion but can be hard to find.

Whether simple or elaborte, your Front Door is the entrance to your home. What does your Front Door say about you?

  1. Lovely post, Sue. You find the most enchanting eye candy! My front door says "Peace, Compassion and your home is full of Harmony." You know, I believe that is true. ;-) I also love those knockers and aged knobs. I need to find some for myself. Thank you for sharing, sweetie. Mina

  2. You could imagine the hand door accessories on the front door to a haunted mansion! I like the yellow door very much, and the purple one with the matching shutters is very pretty. Actually, I like them all, maybe I should buy lots of paint and change things around a lot!

  3. My front door is still the color that went with my old shutters which says I am a procrastinator. My new shutters are barn red and I have barn red paint ready for the door. But, that has not happened yet. I do have one of the bells in your last photo but it is outside on my swing. I love to paint doors. My house is too new to have any old personality yet but I love it.

  6. Sue: Got a lovely surprise at my front door this afternoon! Thanks for having your son drop off my prize! It seems that I missed an email from you somehow - sorry about that. Your hand painted faerie box is even more awesome in person than I imagined, and you sent your hen pincushions too!?! I'm feeling very spoiled! Thank you very much. I hope you're enjoying your pets and gardens - my gardens are past parched since being away for 2 weeks. Barb

  8. Now, see, I'd have thought it would be the other way around with green and blue, especially since green is often associated with wealth in feng shui, if I'm not mistaken.

My front door is saying "I need some paint; anyone want to come paint me?" (The paint is peeling; at least, it seems to be too me anyway).
