MY IDEA OF UTTER BLISS!

It has gotten quite cool and damp today. It rained all last night and it is still drizzly today. Rufus & Daisy have been curled up in the kitchen literally pulling the rug out from each other. I put down the fluffy bath mat and Rufus claimed it but Daisy was quickly tugging it to get a spot for herself. Life with these two is never dull.

On days like this there is nothing I would rather do than curl up with a good book, a cup of tea, and just read all day. Unfortunately I cannot take that luxery today I must finish some art pieces for the GYPSY TEA & TAROT PARTY.

I adore books. They have been a huge part of my life since before I could read myself. My grandfather read me Treasure Island and Black Beauty I cannot even tell you how many times. My idea of heaven is being a room full of books. I have a large bookcase at the bottom of the stairs and I have piles of books on many available surfaces in the house and studio.

While other women get a thrill from Chanel or Dior Shops my heart goes pitta pat at the site of an old book store.

When I find one and walk inside it is like being home.

The shelves heaving with old and new books. Every one begging to be opened, each one promising a new adventure. When I see something like this it takes my breath away..........I need a moment.......okay I will be fine.

I read everywhere. Day or night, dark or light just give me a small flashlight ( I have one in the car so I read at night while my husband drives) and I am taken away by the words that float across the pages.

At the moment I am reading The Witches Daughter. I am enjoying it so much I read the first half in a morning. I am slowing down because I want it to last. In honour of my party and Halloween I have order four other Witch books and I cannot wait to dive into each one.

Well, I must toddle off to the shop and finish my pieces. I am painting some lovely mirrors like Quiga Boards for the Fundraiser but tonight, before I go to sleep I will be stepping back in time within the pages of The Witches Daughter.

To have a whole room dedicated to books would be absolute joy! Love the pix you posted today!

  3. I love libraries and bookstores, too. We have a great old library here in Providence, one of the oldest in the country. I love to go in and "visit." I've put "The Witch's Daughter" on my TBR pile on your recommendation. Can't wait to get to it!
