A LITTLE DOWN

I am feeling a little down today.  I am usually an upbeat, glass half full kind of person.  I am the one who makes everyone feel better.  I try to be positive about all situations but sometimes it all piles on top of me and I am the one who could use a hug.

When I do get feeling blue I usually keep it to myself and handle it.  The few times I have reached out to family and friends I did not get the response I thought I would.  I guess because I never show my vulnerability and try to help everyone, people are taken aback when my shell cracks a little.

I have so much going on right now and I am trying to keep all the balls in the air but today they dropped.  It is a little bit of everything.  As you know I help with the Dog Rescue and I am organizing the fundraiser for June.  I e-mail so many people for donations for baskets and I am so happy when I get a good response but then when I think about the dogs it just makes me so sad.  I know you can't save them all and thank the goddesses for Brenda and others like her who save so many.  I wish I could have 100 because I would.  I look at my babies and they are so happy I just wish all creatures could have that kind of love and security.

So, today, that along with some other things I have been trying to handle,  I just came crashing down.  I am turning to my blogging friends for a virtual hug.  I could really use it.

Maybe you need a hug too.  Or perhaps someone in your life needs one.  It is such a simple gesture but believe me when someone is down the opening of arms that are wrapped around you and squeeze can make all the difference in the world.

  1. Oh my goodness, I a sending the biggest virtual hug ever. You are such a good person, going and doing so many things for others, so now it is your turn to sit back and take all the hugs you can get. Big smiles are coming your way too, along with positive karma.

  2. Hugs friend. I am so sorry you are down. When it comes to the animals we are kindred spirits. I too stress to no end about the ones I can not save. Breaks me to pieces. I don't think that will ever change. I hope whatever else is getting you down lets up. I hate that you are down. Hugs again.

  10. Aww Sue, I know how you feel about animals.
When I hear horrible stories or see how many babies need homes it hurts my heart.
But you have to think you are doing something to help
    Sending hugs!

  11. Thanks for all the hugs in your post - and here's one back at you! Your post reminds me of the starfish story. A beach is strewn with starfish left dry by the tide. A small child works his way down the beach, picking up one starfish at a time and returning them to the water. Someone points out to him that he can't save them all - it's too big a job and his little efforts won't make much of a difference. He picks up another starfish and returns it to the water, then says, " It made a difference to that one."

Never doubt that you make a difference!

  12. I totally understand that it confuses people when you, the one people expect to be strong and confident and calm ~ let go of the branch and crumble like coffee cake ~ even if it's only for a moment....they don't know what to make of you, or quite what to say.
Sending a very, very, understanding, quiet cyber((((hug))) to you...

  13. You are making a difference with your work. Most days you can be the comforter and it's a blessing, but some days you just need a hug. Glad you're feeling better and hope the sun continues to shine! ~Roberta

  15. I know your blue day has passed (according to your next post), but I just wanted to send a hug anyway... like you I am a big animal lover, and I mean big... I am a wildlife rehabilitator and am often faced with tough decisions about them, add in "life", and sometimes it becomes a bit much... I was feeling blue not long ago myself, so I am with you and just wanted to pass on my sentiments of understanding... keep up the good work! (I popped over from Deb at Paxton because I was curious about your blog name - I am a faerie lover!) ... I've been reading several of your posts, love all the pictures, don't know where you find them all! Cheers~
