THE ARTIST AS A CHILD!

I do not remember any time in my life when I did not create. From the time I could pick up a pencil I was drawing. I would use a piece of paper over and over. My grandfather, also a very talented artist, worked a the local Steel Company and would bring me home grease pencils from the office. They were the kind that you pulled the paper away from the tip to make the pencil bigger and they were kind of like a black crayon but denser.

Painting is my main passion but I love working in many mediums. I have recently began to create bracelets for my Etsy Shop WICKED FAERIE QUEEN. I like to keep trying new things to keep my creativity flowing.

I think it is very important to encourage artistic creativity in children. I come from a family of artists. My father, grandfather and great grandmother were very talented people. I was encouraged to do what I wanted and my grandparents always helped by getting me art supplies and my grandfather would show me different techniques, even before I started school. My father gave me a very good piece of advice. He told me to never stop drawing, even if it was just doodling. He was very good until he got married and then life took over and he stopped. He could still do cartoons but he felt he had lost his true artistic ability. I have never put down my pencil.

Encourage your children. If there is something they love to do, whether it is painting.

Sewing.

Or jewelry making, give them the encouragment to do what they love. You never know what they may be when they grow up. Life is doing what you love.

IT IS TIME TO BE HAPPY!

I woke up today and decided enough was enough. No more sadness, I am going to get happy again. I deleted the last few posts, and those who commented, thank you all so much but those posts made me sad so they are gone. Now here are some images that just make me happy.

Buttered corn on the cob brings a smile to my face.

The simplicity of an egg makes me sigh.

Baking anything just makes me happy.

All creatures great and small bring me raptured joy.

Cute animals make me giggle.

Red Velvet Cupcakes make me grin ear to ear.

A Chocolate Martini really brings a smile to my face. You must try one. Yummmmmm!

So now that is all. I will smile everyday and be happy!

TRAILERS.....THE NEW CHIC ACCESSORY!

My husband has always loved Trailers. Not the big RV's but the old vintage type. He especially likes the Airstream. Myself, not so much.

When I was little my grandparents took us camping or we rented a cottage. I can honestly say the only trailer I have ever been in, and that was only for a few minutes, was one my in-laws had decided to buy. It was one of those big ugly things from the 1970's. You know the kind that is really narrow up the middle with the table that turns into a bed. Uhggggggg! All I ever thought of when someone said they were "going to the trailer for the week" was something like the above pictures. A lot of old trailers in a park that people tried to make look like a weekend home.

After seeing some very cute Vintage Trailers on PINTEREST I am revisiting the idea of getting one. Now, because we live in the beautiful country on a farm, I do not see the point of going to a "Trailer Park" or hitting the road. I would entertain the idea of letting my husband put one of these cuties in the wooded area of the farm.

I am always looking for a new decorating project and I am getting the bug to build or redo something. I could see myself getting an old trailer that needs work and making something cute like this.

How adorable it would be. We could go up there in the afternoon and it would be a home away from home.

No long traffic filled drives, although if I had one of these adorable sets it would be tempting.

So, now the hunt is on for something small and cheap, nothing big like this, but it is lovely. Just a little handy woman's special.

HAPPY CANADA DAY!

Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadians.

My house is a festoon of Canadian Flags. We are celebrating the our countries 144th. birthday. She looks pretty good for her age.

Rufus & Daisy will miss the fireworks tomorrow night. They will be safely tucked away in their air conditioned mudroom so they don't get frightened by the noise but they wish you all a Happy Canada Day too!
