I CAN FINALLY SEE THE TOP OF MY TABLE!

It has been a very busy couple of weeks. So much has been coming in the post for the GYPSY TEA & TAROT PARTY. Everyone has been so generous and creative. My Harvest Table has been piled high with things. I finally got all of the baskets finished yesterday and they look pretty amazing.

I made three Wiccan Themed baskets filled with the lovely things other wiccans from Etsy and Blogland have sent. I painted some cute Ouija Board mirrors and Halloween signs. I even found wine with Black Cats on the bottle and two others with Gypsies. The baskets are just full of jewellery, candles, incense, tarot cards and so much. One I made sort of like a wiccan Wizard of Oz with things from my Etsy shop I made for my Oz section.

I also have a Spa Basket and a huge Gourmet Cooks Basket. Then I found some other things that a good friend donated that I had misplaced so I will make another basket called All That Glitters.

All of the tickets have sold out and a lovely woman, Allison, contacted me and she has offered her services to do readings as well. This is going to be a fabulously, magical evening and I wish you all could be there.

And my house is finally all clean and put back together. I moved some things around in the kitchen. The white rabbit seems to like his new spot. Today I clean the studio.

As you can see Daisy and Rufus are no help at all......Stella concurs.

HALLOWEEN HAS COME TO MY ETSY SHOP!

Last year being my first year with an Etsy shop, I fell a little behind with the seasonal wears. This year I am ready. I have been working on Halloween since August and I am already planning the Christmas items.

Here are some of the Halloween pieces I have for this week, there are already lots in my shop WICKED FAERIE QUEEN now.

These cute little Tarot Card boxes were something I really enjoyed making. I love the bats and the cats.

This one I made for myself but loved it so made one for the shop too. I am doing a few more when I get done making the baskets for the GYPSY TEA & TAROT PARTY later today.

I have made a lot of signs this season and a few are already gone. I hand paint all of these, I don't use stencils I find them messy and I can do it faster myself. I adore Halloween and have so many ideas so hopefully I will have time to put a lot more in my shop soon.

MAKE A LOVELY WREATH FOR ANY OCCASSION!

I love wreaths. There was a time when they were associated basically with Christmas but we have evolved over the years to make them for anytime, not just holidays.

There are so many wonderful ideas for wreaths. I make them for every holiday. Vibrant fall colours for Autumn, Spooky for Halloween, Jewelled tones for Christmas, Hearts for Valentine's Day and of course Bunnies and Eggs for Easter.

I see wreaths made out of every kind of material for everything. If you have a cottage or beach house shells make a fabulous summer wreath.

What a great idea this is! I am all for repurposing and how many times have you seen mason jar lids at yard sales. Just run a stiff wire through them and voila, instant rustic wreath.

Talk about a statement. These old tin pie plates and serving trays in their old worn, dented condition, make a fantastic wreath in a home with high ceilings.

We all have picture frames with no glass why not turn them into interesting wreaths.

Lots of people collect old spools of thread why not display them as a wreath or make one for a friend who is an avid sewer.

When I was little, at Christmas we made wreaths out of cut up garbage bags, they actually looked pretty good. We also made Christmas trees by folding the pages of old phone books. Here are some great ideas for repurposed wreaths like this one made of music sheets.

Look at this repurposed wreath made of book pages from CREATURE COMFORTS. Very country looking.

I love this Book Page Rose Wreath from UNDER THE TABLE AND DREAMING you can also make cool flowers for gift wrapping. I am going to try this the instructions look very easy.

How cute is this Rake Wreath from MISS EFFIE'S DAIRY. I don't know how many of these I have gotten rid of over the years. I think this looks amazing.

How about a Burlap Bubble Wreath. Get the instuctions for this lovely wreath and the frame at TODAYS FABULOUS FINDS.

If you are having a bbq or outdoor party vegetable always make really nice wreaths and they are reasonable to create like this Radish Wreath from THE KITCHEN.

So why not get creative and add a wreath to you indoor or outdoor decor. Have you done something different, let me know and send me some pictures and I will share your ideas with everyone.

MY IDEA OF UTTER BLISS!

It has gotten quite cool and damp today. It rained all last night and it is still drizzly today. Rufus & Daisy have been curled up in the kitchen literally pulling the rug out from each other. I put down the fluffy bath mat and Rufus claimed it but Daisy was quickly tugging it to get a spot for herself. Life with these two is never dull.

On days like this there is nothing I would rather do than curl up with a good book, a cup of tea, and just read all day. Unfortunately I cannot take that luxery today I must finish some art pieces for the GYPSY TEA & TAROT PARTY.

I adore books. They have been a huge part of my life since before I could read myself. My grandfather read me Treasure Island and Black Beauty I cannot even tell you how many times. My idea of heaven is being a room full of books. I have a large bookcase at the bottom of the stairs and I have piles of books on many available surfaces in the house and studio.

While other women get a thrill from Chanel or Dior Shops my heart goes pitta pat at the site of an old book store.

When I find one and walk inside it is like being home.

The shelves heaving with old and new books. Every one begging to be opened, each one promising a new adventure. When I see something like this it takes my breath away..........I need a moment.......okay I will be fine.

I read everywhere. Day or night, dark or light just give me a small flashlight ( I have one in the car so I read at night while my husband drives) and I am taken away by the words that float across the pages.

At the moment I am reading The Witches Daughter. I am enjoying it so much I read the first half in a morning. I am slowing down because I want it to last. In honour of my party and Halloween I have order four other Witch books and I cannot wait to dive into each one.

Well, I must toddle off to the shop and finish my pieces. I am painting some lovely mirrors like Quiga Boards for the Fundraiser but tonight, before I go to sleep I will be stepping back in time within the pages of The Witches Daughter.
