In the past, when we have needed more space we have built onto the house. When I felt I needed a studio space because we both got tired of paints, fabrics and bits sitting around the kitchen, we built my studio. I have found that after Christmas, when I put everything away and started to clean things out I realized there was so much I did not need. Today I have hit the bathroom. Lotions, potions, shampoos.........so much! I have cleaned out the cupboard and have a whole bag for the recycle bin. Tomorrow the kitchen!
With all of the rooms we have built onto our home, I don't know why but we never built a pantry. I would love a walk in pantry but the way our kitchen space is there is just no room. I don't know where it all comes from but I always seem to have so much stuff in my cupboards.
We may have to come up with a free standing pantry. I like the idea of an armoire type. I do like the wire rack but I don't know if I want all that stuff showing.
I like this idea, my paper towels are on the counter, this is a nice hideaway.
I love this. I have a lot of pots and pans and gadgets because I cook a lot. These racks are from WalMart. I will try them and see if they work this well.
Wow! I don't know if my drawers would ever stay this organized but they look wonderful.
I do a clean out several times a year and my cupboards do look very nice and organized for a while. Then some how little elves and faeries come in the night and mess them up. This is the only way I can figure that it happens, my husband swears it's not him and I don't think it is me............maybe I sleep walk. Oh well, I am giving it another go. I don't know if it is possible to keep your cupboards Stepford Wife organized but maybe I can keep them from falling out on the floor when I look for the sugar.
Hi - take a look at my blog "julieshomedecor.blogspot.com". I just bought a wire rack for my kitchen and I LOVE it. I've found it very easy to keep tidy looking and it gives me so much more storage space! I priced the stainless steel restaurant style ones but it was going to cost about $400+ and I got my black one at Home Depot for $90.

I would love to have a kitchen big enough to put some of these ideas to use but mine is so small there is no room for even a free standing shelf unit. I'll just get more organized by getting rid of the things I really don't need.
ReplyDeleteOur kitchen is so tiny and it will be nice to someday have more storage areas and a pantry would be heavenly. I'm still getting clunked in the head when I open a cupboard!
