SNOW, SNOW, CHALKBOARDS, A LITTLE PIG & A GIVEAWAY!

We finally got a little snow yesterday. Not much and it is suppose to be warm on Monday so it will all be gone. We are hoping for an early spring.

I would like to share some ideas for chalkboards today. If you do not have one consider one of these ideas because chalkboards are a great centre for you kitchen or diningroom.

This is my chalkboard. My husband and I made this . I had a little area beside the table and bench when we redid the kitchen to French Country. It was not big enough for a chair or even a small cupboard so I decided a chalkboard would be perfect. I love this. I use it all the time for lists but also at Christmas , birthdays and other occasions. Everyone who comes in and looks at the board for whatever message I have created for the day.

I also have chalkboard paint on my upper kitchen cupboards. I like to write something inspirational at the beginning of each year, although, as of yet I have not come up with anything for this year.

I love the look of doing a whole wall as a chalkboard. I do not have an empty wall large enough or I would have done something like this.

Doing a whole wall is great if you have kids.

That little space between two rooms is perfect for a chalkboard. If you don't want to or can't paint onto the wall just get a piece of smooth wood and cut it to fit. I have used both spray and the can paint but I do recommend the can of paint for a large area. Give a chalkboard a try, it is a lot of fun and adds a little whimsy to your room.

I want to show you this picture I saw on my friend Anita's blog, Castles, Crowns & Cottages. I thought this was the cutest thing ever. Drop by and see Anita if you haven't already. She has the loveliest images and her words are so poetic.

And last but not least, on Monday I will be posting my VALENTINE'S DAY GIVEAWAY so don't forget to stop by.

  2. Loved looking at your chalkboard pics. I am trying to find a vintage standing chalk board to use in my craft shows, so far no luck. Hoping you stay warm!

  4. OHH I absolutely LOVE chalk boards. We used to have one in our dining room and I would write quotes on it and when we had company invite them to write on it too..what fun! The chalk board is long gone, but I am always searching for a spot to add some chalk paint! I just bought a spray can the other day! Not sure what I am going to do with it yet..would LOVE a whole wall!
