A SUCCESSFUL DAY & A BAD BURN!

As you all know we had our Yard Sale yesterday for RESCUE DOGS MATCH.  The motto above says it all for me.

We had a lot of stuff!  People started coming just after 7 a.m. and thie selling went pretty well.  Brenda put a  huge donation container out and we put out flyers for the June 8th. SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES FUNDRAISER.  Thanks to the many buyers and generous donations we were able to raise $500.00!  We are pretty happy about that.

The lovely Kelly, an Akita who is with the Rescue and looking for a Forever Family, joined us for the day wearing her "I am up for Adoption" vest.  She had a great time and everyone loved her.  She was such a good girl for her Foster Mommy, always coming when she was called.  She's a real doll.  It would have been nice to have Pee Wee there, he is a beautiful St. Bernard who has yet to find a Foster Home so he is at the Boarding Kennel.  He is so loveable and sweet but it was a hot day and St. Bernards do not fare well in the heat.  Please say a little blessing for this big boy that he gets a home or at least a foster home soon.

It was very hot yesterday but breezy.  Unfortunately there were no trees for shade and even though I had protection on and sat with the back of the car up I got a terrible burn on my neck  and my chest.  My face is burnt too but not that bad.  Do they make Noxema anymore?  I will have to look for something tomorrow.  Today I am sore and tired but have to get some things done.

This should be the motto for the Rescue or any Rescue for that matter.  Even the little kind gestures help.  We met a lot of nice people yesterday and Brenda had some of them wanting to volunteer which is great.  The kindness of those who donated was lovely.  Brenda's dad was a star, the wonderful man brought us breakfast and lunch, thank you!

It was a long, tiring day and week for that matter, getting ready but it was worth it.  People were met,  the rescue got some attention it desperately needed from the area and some money was made.  That is success in my eyes!
