LAST DAY OF A LOVELY YEAR!

It is December 31st. already!  Even though I decorate the farm for Christmas the second week of November, when the second week of December hits it just zooms by.  I have loved Christmas so much this season and hate to take everything down but, when January 1st. arrives on the calendar it is time to say goodbye and hello to a brand new year of adventure.

New Year's is pretty quiet around here.  We had our New Year's Party time and frankly, I don't always like to say goodbye to the old year.  Even if it has been not a great one you can always find one or two moments in the year that you don't want to say goodbye to.

This year had it's ups and downs like any other but the best "up" was the birth of our sweet baby grandson and a new great nephew to boot.  Christmas was lovely with all the little ones running around.

I don't make resolutions, I think you should challenge yourself all year round, life is much more fun that way.  Even if it small challenges like organizing things you have meant to or trying some new food or even changing your hair colour, life is what you make it so grab on and enjoy the ride.

Whether you stay home tonight and welcome in 2014 with a good movie, some take out and a little kiss at midnight or drink champagne and dance on the tables ( I hope you remember that tomorrow), I wish you all a very Happy New Year's Eve.

  1. Sweet Sue! Now I like that idea about dancing on the table with a flute of champagne! We did our share of dancing and eating and singing for Christmas; I have a lively family and we are not afraid to live it up...wisely!

Thank you so much for coming to visit me; it was a remarkable year even with the let-downs...those are the things that sift out the fears and make us strong. Be well, enjoy your passions and HAPPY 2014! Anita

  3. Thank you so much, Sue, for stopping by with your well wishes. I just had to come over and I see I am missing on a great blog! Taking down Christmas is a pleasurable thing to do on New Years Day as all there is going on here is football on the TV! I know we will leave our tree and lights up another week or so (unless it catches fire), but I think it will be good for my back to move around a little and start making some piles. And I have been off the pills for 2 days now so I can treat myself to some champagne tonight! Yay!

So, I'm wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year! I am following you now (next week we can say we met last year! lol). Now I'm going to take a quick peek around. Thanks again for popping in! :)

    XO,
    Jane

  4. A lot of people have complained that 2013 was not a good year for them, but I think you are so right when you say if they just look again, they will find there were times when it was good.
Wishing you a very Happy 2014.
